WHO AFRO: Putting Africa back on track to achieve the immunization agenda 2030
To date, routine immunization (RI) services provided through National EPI programmes in the African region have played a pivotal role in reducing deaths and illnesses from vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs). This event seeks to:
- highlight key successes, challenges and lessons learnt in RI program delivery at country and regional levels.
- provide useful insights on what remains to be done to reduce the burden of zero-dose, mitigate emerging VPD outbreaks, and strengthen health system resilience for integrated RI service delivery.
- offer cross-regional sharing on actionable recommendations for WHO and all key immunization partners and stakeholders.
- galvanize high-level political support for country EPI programmes recovery as well as gain Member States’ alignment with regional immunization priorities in a bid to renew stronger political leadership for immunization prioritization in the achievement of IA2030 agenda.
