Dr Thomas Nyirenda MD MPH, trained in Medicine at University of St Andrews (Scotland), St Mary’s Hospital (London) and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), and in Public Health at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He is Strategic Partnerships & Capacity Development Manager and Head of Africa Office of the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnerships (EDCTP). He founding Director of Clinical Research Education and Management Services (CREAMS) in Malawi and is currently an Extraordinary Senior Lecture in the Department of Global Health of Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He brings to the CPHIA Programme Committees his 30 years’ experience of working in Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Operational and Clinical Research in sub-Saharan Africa, out of which he has spent 20 years at management level of an International Funding Agency .
