Dr. Babacar Gueye is a public health physician with over thirty years of experience in maternal and child health (MCH), family planning (FP), reproductive health (RH), and malaria, as well as in program management, project implementation, and quality assurance.
Dr. Gueye has worked for the Senegalese Ministry of Health, the UNICEF country office as a project manager for child survival and development, and for IntraHealth Senegal, where he held the positions of project manager and country director for 15 years. Currently, Dr. Gueye is the executive director of the local NGO “Baobab Institute for Health and Development.” He has successfully led several initiatives funded by USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as well as the Novartis Foundation and the Pfizer Foundation.
